Fire fighters were also dispatched to a major gas leak in Emmitsburg.
Libertytown, Md (KM) The cause of a large structure fire in the Libertytown area early Thursday morning remains under investigation.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue officials say personnel were called out at around 12:18 AM to the 14,000 block of Harrisville Road for a fire in a storage building, and found a 50-foot by 80-foot garage fully involved.
Fire fighters from Carroll and Howard Counties were called in to assist. A tanker task force was set up to bring water to the fire grounds, and the Rapid Intervention Task Force was brought in. Fire fighters were at the scene for three hours.
There were no injuries, but the garage is considered a total loss. The fire did some minor damage to a nearby home.
Fire fighters were also busy with large gas leak in an apartment building in Emmitsburg early Thursday morning.. Officials say the call went out shortly before 1:00 AM to the 600 block of West Main Street.
Residents were evacuated from their apartment units.
Fire fighters were on the scene for two hours until the gas company came to make repairs. No one was injured, and there were no explosions.
Fire officials say some personnel responded to the building fire in the Libertytown area were also dispatched to Emmitsburg for the gas leak.
