House Destroyed By Fire In Frederick County Tuesday Afternoon

Officials say the structured collapsed into the foundation.

Frederick, Md (KM) Fire destroyed a house east of Libertytown on Tuesday afternoon.

The Frederick Scanner Facebook page says units were dispatched just before 12:00 PM to Keys Chapel Road and Coppermine Road where fire fighters found a house fully involved in flames. They saw heavy fire on the second floor, and requested a tanker task force to bring in water, and the Rapid Intervention Dispatch for additional manpower.

Crews operating inside the home had to evacuate following an explosion; all personnel were accounted for.  Fire fighters had to pull back 25 feet from the house while putting out the flames, and Keys Chapel Road was closed. .

The fire was eventually brought under control, and some units were released just after 1:15 PM

The Frederick Scanner says the fire was reported extinguished just before 4:45 PM.. The structure collapsed into the foundation.  No injuries were reported,

The owner was not at home at the time of the fire.
