The investigation is continuing.
Rockville, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police say the body of a man found in the Potomac River on Tuesday has been identified. He’s Ankil Kumar, 30. of McLean, Virginia.
According to authorities, a resident who was kayaking on the Potomac called 911 shortly after 7:00 PM to report a body in the Wet Bottom area of Great Falls. . Police, fire and rescue personnel responded and pulled Kumar out of the river.
His body was taken to the Maryland State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
The investigation into Kumar’s death is continuing. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
