Washington County residents age 65 and older are eligible
Hagerstown, MD (KB) Washington County residents age 65 and older will now be able to begin the process of scheduling an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Meritus Health says they are working to improve the process to get as many people scheduled and vaccinated as safely and as quickly as the organization receives vaccine allocations from the state.
The clinic will only administer vaccines to eligible residents who have an appointment and who have been registered by Meritus Health. Those who do not currently have a MyChart patient portal account can access a form online at: www.MeritusHealth.com/covidvaccine to be added to the waitlist for a coronavirus vaccine. The resident will be contacted by phone in the order by which the application was received to schedule a vaccine appointment.
Those who already have a MyChart patient portal account can self-schedule an appointment as vaccines become available.
Meritus Health says they are expecting a large number of people to submit vaccination applications. The call to schedule an appointment could take up to several weeks after the application is submitted.
Meritus will continue to vaccinate individuals who meet phase 1A criteria as per the guidelines of the State of Maryland. That includes frontline health care providers and first responders.
