Frederick, Md. (NS) – A hockey game between the Western MD Blueliners and the Anchormen will be held to benefit the family of Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Deputy First Class Kenny Olander who died from an illness on March 2nd.
Detective Bryce McGuire said both hockey teams are local.
“Our Blueliners team is compromised of Police Officers from the Sheriff’s Office, the (Frederick) City police, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Hagerstown City Police and the State’s Attorney’s Office here in Frederick,” said McGuire.
The Anchormen is a local adult league team.
Detective Josh Stears said raffle items for the event were donated by the Washington Capitals.
“T.J. Oshie signed jersey, which is a Washington Capitals player, Tom Wilson signed jersey, an Ovechkin full team roster signed jersey, ticket packs to an upcoming game, and then some smaller ticket items that will hopefully generate some money for his family,” said Stears.
