One fire fighter was injured.
Keymar, Md. (KM) – The occupants of an apartment in Carroll County were displaced by a fire early Thursday morning.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says at around 7:28 AM, fire fighters were sent to the 1700 block of Keysville Road in Keymar for an apartment fire. It took 35 fire fighters 35-minutes to bring the flames under control.
One fire fighter with the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Department was injured and taken to Carroll General Hospital for treatment.
The Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire originated in a second-story apartment, but the cause remains under investigation.
Damage is estimated at $120,000.
The occupants are being assisted by the Red Cross.
