Search turns up nothing.
Ijamsville, Md. (KM) – The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is doing a follow up investigation after an incident Friday morning at Oakdale High.
Deputies and fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to the school at around 10:40 AM after a call came in about a suspicious package. Authorities say a search was conducted inside and outside of the building, but nothing was found. Emergency responders cleared the scene by 12:00 noon..
The Sheriff’s Office says this appears to be a “spoof” call where an individual calls in fake threat to the school. The number where the call originated indicated it was from Canada, and the student’s name that used was invalid..
Authorities say Oakdale High was not locked down, but the parking lot was blocked off to allow deputies and fire and rescue to conduct a search.
The investigation will be handled by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section.
