Two suspects arrested & charged.
Frederick, Md. (KM) – Two Frederick men were arrested early Friday morning on narcotics and weapons offenses. Markus Asa Thomas Marvine, 23, and Anthony Ajene Byrd, 21, were taken into custody after officers executed search and seizure warrants on an apartment atĀ 90 Waverly Drive, and a vehicle.
Police say they located a 9mm Beretta Model 96D, PMF P89 “Ghost Gun;” Stevens Model 12-gauge shotgun; Del-Ton, Inc., AR15 with 65-round drum magazine; and a Smith and Wesson M&P.
Officers also seized 614 grams of suspected marijuana; 420- grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms; and $3702 in cash.. Police say this indicates a significant level of distribution and trafficking in narcotics.
Marvine is charged with:
- CR 3-0233, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana
- CR 1-0573, Possession of Marijuana in the amount of 614 grams (10 grams or more)
- CR 3-0233, Possession with intent to distribute Psilocybin Mushrooms
- CR 4-3550, Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms
- CR 1-0484, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana within 1000 feet of a school zone
- CR 1-0484, Possession with intent to distribute Psilocybin Mushrooms within 1000 feet of a school zone
- CR 1-0493, Firearm/ Drug Trafficking Crime
- CR 1-0487, CDS: Distribute Etc. with Firearm
Byrd is charged with:
- CR 3-0233, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana
- CR 1-0573, Possession of Marijuana in the amount of 614 grams (10 grams or more)
- CR 3-0233, Possession with intent to distribute Psilocybin Mushrooms
- CR 4-3550, Possession of Psilocybin Mushrooms
- CR 1-0484, Possession with intent to distribute Marijuana within 1000 feet of a school zone
- CR 1-0484, Possession with intent to distribute Psilocybin Mushrooms within 1000 feet of a school zone
- CR 1-0493, Firearm/ Drug Trafficking Crime
- CR 1-0487, CDS: Distribute Etc. with Firearm
Both men are being held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
Frederick Police say this was a coordinated effort with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations under the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network. The Governor ‘s Office of Crime Control and Prevention provided the grant money and strategic support.
