He was honored Wed. Night by the School Board.
Frederick, Md. (KM) – Congratulations go out to Brion Harrigan who has been named Substitute Teacher of the Year for Frederick County Public Schools. He was honored on Wednesday by Board of Education members during their meeting.
In a news release, the School System says Harrigan is a substitute teacher at Centerville Elementary School, and has worked in every classroom during the previous school year. He has developed positive relationships with students and is known to be flexible and engaging; all while following teachers’ lesson plans.
The School System also says during his planning time, Harrigan would ask the front office if they had any additional needs.
He says he enjoys being a substitute teacher because it lets him give back to the community.
“From his first day with us, we knew that we had a gem,:” says Karen Hopson, Principal at Centerville Elementary School, in a statement. “Mr. Harrigan is not just a substitute at CES, he is a staff member at CES. We have included him in all of our staff celebrations and events because he is at our school every day.!”
