Frederick County Fire Fighters Rescue A Dog During A House Fire

The dog was taken to a vet for emergency care.

Frederrick, Md (KM) One dog was rescued during a house fire Friday afternoon in Frederick County.

Fire officials say at around 5:22 PM, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 6100 block of Elmer Derr Road for a house fire with entrapment. When they arrived, they found fire showing from the one-and-a-half-story home. Officials requested the rapid intervention dispatch.

A woman who as the occupant of the home   was outside when fire fighters arrived, and received medical care. She  was taken to Frederick Health Hospital  in serious but stable condition, according to fire officials.

A dog was also rescued from the home, and was resuscitated; and then transported to a veterinarian for emergency care.

The fire was brought under control  by 5:35 PM. Then fire fighters checked for hot spots.

Units began clearing the scene by 6:00 PM.
