Frederick, Md (KM) A woman associated with a scandal that resulted in then-President Bill Clinton’s impeachment in 1998 is coming to Frederick. Monica Lewinsky is scheduled to speak at the Weinberg Center on Thursday evening, January 18th, beginning at 7:30.
The Weinberg says tickets are $50 which can be purchased on line (WeinbergCenter.org), by phone at 301-600-2828, or by visiting the Weinberg at 20 West Patrick Streets. Discounts are available for students, children, military or seniors. A ticketed Meet and Greet will follow.
The Weinberg describes Lewinsky as a producer, social activist and a contributing editor to Vanity Fair. She was also a producer for FX and HBO Max. Her goal, the Weinberg says, is to tell stories that challenge established norms when it comes to shame, identity, reclamation and justice for women.
In 2014, Lewinsky co-wrote an essay for Vanity Fair describing her experiences in Washington in 1998 when she was connected with the scandal that led to then-President Bill Clinton’s impeachment. He was acquitted by the Senate.
Lewinsky’s visit kicks off the 2024 Weinberg Speaker Series.
