Jefferson Man Sentenced For Two Armed Robberies In Frederick

He will be on  supervised release after he gets out of prison.

Baltimore, Md (KM) In US District Court in Baltimore on Friday, a Jefferson man was sentenced to federal prison for two armed robberies in Frederick County. The US Attorney’s Office for Maryland says Anthony Young, 38, was given 12 years incarceration followed by three years of supervised release..

In a  plea agreement, Johnson admitted he and another man robbed the Francis Key Post 11 of the American Legion in Frederick on November 18th, 2019. In that incident, two men entered the post brandishing a black handgun. The men grabbed an employee and struck him in the mouth twice, and restrained him with zip ties,  The men made off with a large sum of money. Witnesses told police they saw two suspects entering a car which was registered to Young..

Young also admitted to robbing the Woodsboro Bank in Frederick on December 5th,  2019. .Employees and witnesses said a man entered the bank, armed with a black handgun. He was able to steal a large amount of money before leaving the bank and the area. The vehicle was traced back to Young, police say.

Young was arrested on December 16th, 2019 at his home….where police say they found clothing and other items after serving a search warrant  which linked him to the robberies at the American Legion Post, and Woodsboro Bank.

Federal prosecutors say Young waived his rights and confessed   to committing both armed robberies.
