State Board Of Elections Says More Than 660,000 Mail-In To Be Sent Out

A majority will be sent out by the US Postal Service.

Annapolis, Md (KM) More than 660,000 mail-in ballots will be heading out to voters in Maryland starting on Friday, September 20th. The State Board of Elections says over 578,000 ballots are being mailed, and over 91,000 ballots are being sent out on line.

Citizens can still request a mail-in ballot. The request by mail must arrive at your local Election Office by October 29th, and by the world wide web by November 1st.

“Mail-in ballots are a convenient and secure way to cast your vote in the upcoming election,”: says Jared DeMarinis, the State Administrator for the Board of Elections, in a statement. “Marylanders who want to cast a mail-in ballot should submit their request as soon as possible and have a plan to cast their ballot either by secure drop box or the US Postal Service. Voters with questions about their voting options should contact the SBE or follow us on social media as their trusted source for election information.”

The State Board of Elections says 286 drop boxes have been set up across Maryland to receive ballots. Residents need to  place their ballots in these drop boxes by Tuesday, November 5th by 8:00 PM. . Drop box locations in Frederick County are Brunswick Middle School, 301 Cummings Drive, Brunswick;; Crestwood Middle School, 7100 Foxcroft Drive, Frederick; Frederick County Board of Elections Office, 8490 Progress Drive, Frederick; Frederick Prospect Center, 585 Himes Avenue, Frederick; Middletown VFW Activities Building, 1 Fireman’s Lane, Middletown; Oakdale High School, 5850 Eaglehead Drive, Ijamsville; Thurmont Regional Library, 76 E. Moser Road, Thurmont; Urbana Regional Library, 9020 Amelung Drive, Frederick; Waverly Elementary School, 201 Waverly Drive, Frederick; and William R. Talley Recreation Center, 121 N. Bentz Street, Frederick.

Early Voting is taking place from October 24th through October 31st. The polling places for early voting are the Frederick Prospect Center, 585 Himes Avenue, Frederick; Middletown VFD Activities Building, 1 Fireman’s Lane, Middletown; Thurmont Regional Library, 76 E. Moser Road, Thurmont; and Urbana Regional Library, 9020 Amelung Drive, Frederick. The hours are from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM each day.

Voters can still cast their ballots on general election day, Tuesday, November 5th. The hours are from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
