Frederick Police Charge Man With 11 Counts Of Possession Of Child Pornography

He’s also a substitute teacher for Frederick County Public Schools.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man is charged with 11 counts of possession of child pornography. Daniel Patrick Vandervossen, 50, was arrested on Wednesday at his home.

Frederick Police say in September,2024,  Detective DeWees began an investigation involving internet crimes against children. The suspect was identified as Vandervossen.

A search and seizure warrant was obtained, and members of the Frederick Police Major Crimes Unit served the  warrant on  Vandervosen’s home on Camillia Court as well as his car. where evidence was collected.

Vandervossen was taken into custody. He was seen by a district court commissioner, and released on an unsecured bond of $5,000.

The Frederick News Post reports that Vandervossen is a substitute teacher who worked at several local public schools.  The School System says  Vandervossen is on unpaid leave, and has been removed from the substitute teacher roster.

This investigation was a joint operation between the Frederick Police and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office.
