Frederick Salvation Army in Need of ‘Bell Ringers’

The Red Kettle Campaign helps the local community.

FREDERICK, MD. (LG) The Salvation Army, in Frederick, is in need of volunteers to serve as ‘bell ringers’ for their Red Kettle Campaign. “When we have someone to volunteer their time at that Kettle, it translates into resources that we can push right back into the program at no cost. That is huge for us,” said Major Kelly English.

Every weekend from mid-November until just before Christmas, volunteers go out into the community to ring the bell at the Salvation Army’s Red Kettles, which raises thousands of dollars every year to support the organization’s work in the Frederick community. “So, here is a great way to sign up for a volunteer to be a bell ringer, it is registertoring.com,” English continued.

According to the organization’s website, the Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for 130 years in the United States. Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar spent is used to carry out those services in 5,000 communities nationwide.
