Frederick, Md (KM) A Pennsylvania man was sentenced in Frederick County Circuit Court on Monday for one count of sex abuse of a minor. The State’s Attorney’s Office says Rory Littleton Sanders, 44, of Waynesboro, was given 25 years incarceration with all but 20 years suspended.. The offense took place in Frederick County between 2010 and 2014.
The Frederick County Sheriffs’ Office began its investigation into this case in July, 2021 after receiving a report on offenses in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Sanders pleaded guilty in Pennsylvania to forcible rape, and three counts of corruption of a minor. He began serving his sentence of 13 to 25 years in Pennsylvania before being brought to Maryland to face charges. Sanders pleaded guilty to one count of child sex abuse of a minor on July 31st, 2024..
Circuit Court Judge Scott Rolle, who sentenced Sanders, ordered that the sentence in Maryland be served consecutive to the Pennsylvania sentence. That is, Sanders will served his time in prison in Maryland after he’s completed his sentenced in Pennsylvania.
“No reasonable person could justify this behavior,” Judge Rolle said.
After he completes his two consecutive sentences, the State’s Attorney’s Office says Sanders will be placed on five years of supervised probation in Maryland, and must register as a sex offender for life. He’s also subject to lifetime sex offender supervision.
“These cases are really heartbreaking because they have a very long lasting effect on the victims. Prosecuting these people and sending them to jail is only the beginning of the recovery process for these victims. At least we know he will not hurt them again<“: says State’s Attorney Charlie Smith, in a statement.
