One is a Frederick man charged with weapons and narcotics offenses.
Frederick, Md (KM) Three indictments were handed down on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury.
Leonard Anthony Morris, 22, of Frederick is charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine; two counts of possession with intent to distribute Alprazolam; use of a firearm in drug trafficking; possession of a rifle/shotgun with a felony conviction; three counts of possession of a firearm with a felony/crime of violence conviction; three counts of narcotics offenses with a firearm; two counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm; possession a firearm without a serial number; and illegal possession of ammunition.
Frederick Police and other law enforcement agencies took Morris into custody at his home on Tuesday, October 29th. Authorities say they found a large supply of firearms, ammunition, cash and drugs. At the time of his arrest, police say Morris was already on probation until 2028 for a conviction in 2022 for possession with intent to distribute narcotics, and being a minor in possession of a handgun.
Other indictments handed down by the Grand Jury:
*Mario Rene Mondragon, 47, of Frederick, who is charged with 1st-degree assault; 2nd-degree assault; reckless endangerment; use of a firearm in a violent crime or felony; having a loaded handgun on his person; having a handgun on his person; and magazine use of ten rounds or more for an offense which occurred on October 17th, 2024
*Christopher Joseph Mainwaring, 29, of Gaithersburg, Md, who is charged with 1st-degree assault; 2nd-degree assault; reckless endangerment and false imprisonment for an offense which occurred on October 14th, 2024..
These indictments move these cases to the Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.
The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says indictments are charging documents alleging criminal conduct, and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
