The Ribbon Cutting (Top) Inside the STEM Center
Frederick, Md (KM) A new STEM Center has opened in Frederick County. School System Officials on Monday held a ribbon cutting on the Cal Ripken Senior Foundation STEM Center. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The Foundation says it will give students a chance to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a interactive environment.
New STEM Centers opened last year at Tuscarora Elementary and Whittier Elementary Schools.
The School System says the center at Carroll Manor Elementary will feature STEM equipment at student workstations, which will encourage them in their creativity, teamwork and problem solving. “This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to engage in STEM activities, “says Dr. Cheryl Dyson, Superintendent of Frederick County Public Schools, in a statement. ” We are appreciative of this opportunity to inspire students from an early age.”
The launch of this new STEM Center is in collaboration with Rowan Digital Infrastructure. “We are honored to partner with Frederick County Public Schools to provide students with this exciting new STEM space,” says Martin Romo, senior director of economic development and extremal affairs at Rowan. “At Rowan, we are committed to not only to advancing digital infrastructure but also to strengthening communities across Frederick County by investing tin the workforce of the future.”
