One suspect is charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder.
Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Grand Jury returned two indictments on Friday. One was against Gregory Lyte, 38, of Martinsburg, West Virginia who is charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, use of a firearm for a violent crime or felony, and possession of a firearm with a prior firearm conviction..
On February 24th, 2019, police say Lyte was involved in a shooting incident in the 100 block of North Market Street in Frederick. . Authorities say two groups of people got involved in an argument inside of an establishment. That led to a fight outside on the sidewalks which resulted in one man being shot in the abdomen. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The second person indicted on Friday by the Grand Jury was Stuart Emmanuel Ryan III, 46, of Hagerstown. He is charged with armed robbery; 1st degree assault; 2nd degree assault; theft less than $100; and two countsĀ of stealing another person’s credit card. This is forĀ an offense which occurred on January 3rd, 2024.
These indictments move these cases to the Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.
The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says indictments are charging documents alleging criminal conduct, and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
