Frederick City To Hold Special Meeting On Election Districts

It’s an opportunity for citizens to give their opinions on this topic.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Special Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3rd at 7:00 PM at Frederick City Hall to discuss the development of new election districts.

Under a recent charter amendment, there will be five election districts in the city, and each district will be represented by a member of the City Council. There will also be two, at-large Council members. The City Council was formerly known as the Board of Aldermen.

Residents can let their voices be heard by speaking in person at the meeting during public comment, or submitting an e-comment prior to the meeting.

City officials say there will be other opportunities following the meeting to give comment. That includes speaking at future meetings during the public comment section, or submitting e-comments. There will also be a survey designed to gather community input.

Details on how to submit an e-comment or get access to the survey will be available on the City of Frederick website following the December 3rd meeting, according to city officials.
