New Resource Guide On Land Preservation Available From Frederick County Office Of Agriculture

It’s designed to help preserve local farmland.

Frederick, Md (KM) A new resource guide for agricultural land preservation in Frederick County has been released. The County’s Office of Agriculture says this new guide has updated information to help farmers, landowners and other stakeholders better understand the county’s initiatives to preserve agricultural land for future generations.;

“Preserving agricultural land is critical in ensuring food security, supporting local farmers and maintaining the rural character of Frederick County,”  says Katie Stevens, Director of the Office of Agriculture, in a statement. “This improved resource guide is an important tool to empower our community with the information they need to participate in these programs and make a lasting impact.”

The County says this new guide is part of its ongoing commitment to preserving farmland and promoting agriculture. It provides a detailed overview of the  county’s various agricultural land preservation programs, including each of the program’s goals, accomplishments, eligibility, factors and restrictions, deadlines and stewardship requirements.

Printed copies of this new resource guide can be found at the County’s; Office of Agriculture at 118 North Market Street. Call the Office at 301-600-3039 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday to reserve a copy.
