Frederick, Md (KM) One woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Walkersville on Tuesday afternoon.
The Frederick Scanner Facebook page says at around 2:30 PM, fire and rescue units were dispatched to Maryland Route 26 between Crum Road and Israel Creek for a crash with a woman trapped in her vehicle. with a trauma code. Crews were able to rescue that person, and requested a medivac helicopter. But the woman died at the scene. Her name has not bee released.
State Police say she was the driving a Tesla heading west on Route 26 when for unknown reasons the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Dodge Ram pick up truck head-on. The operator of the Ram was evaluated for injuries and taken to the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
