Frederick, Md (KM) The current President and Vice President of the Frederick County Council will retain their jobs. President Brad Young and Vice President Kavonte Duckett were re-elected to their offices during Tuesday’s Council meeting.
They will serve in these offices from 2024 to 2026.
“I was proud of the accomplishments that the County Council has achieved over the past two years in working with County Executive Jessica Fitzwater on behalf of the people of Frederick County,” Council President Young said in a statement. “Over the next two years, I will continue to diligently work for all Frederick Countians.”
Duckett said in a statement: ” I appreciate the support of my colleagues to continue in my leadership role. As I look ahead to the next two years,, I am filed with excitement and anticipation for the opportunities ahead. Together, we will work to further strengthen and elevate the voices of our residents, ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued in our community.”
Young is an at-large member of the Council; Duckett represents District 4.
The year 2026 is also an election year for the Frederick County Council and other offices.
