Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Board of Education on Wednesday picked its leadership for the upcoming year.
Rae Gallagher was elected as President of the Board. She replaces Karen Yoho who decided not to seek another term. Gallagher had been serving as Vice President starting 2023.
She has also worked in leadership positions at several non-profits, and has collaborated with organizations to shift policy, and make sure that school environments are safe and supportive. according to background provided by Frederick County Public Schools. .
Gallagher was appointed to the School Board in 2020 by then-County Executive Jan Gardner to fill a vacancy. She finished up that term later that year.
Elected Vice President for the coming year was Dean Rose. He served in that position for one year starting in 2022.
Rose has lived in Frederick County since 1998, and has volunteered with several non-profit organizations, according to background materials provided by the School System.
Both Gallagher and Rose were elected to the School Board in 2022.
