Jury selection got underway on Tuesday.

Frederick, Md (KM) Jury selection took place Tuesday and Wednesday for the trial of Santos Felipe Reyes-Valle, 39, of Frederick. He is charged with 1st-degree murder and 2nd-degree murder for a stabbing which took place on May 17th, 2023.
Frederick Police say officers responded that evening to a parking lot on North McCain Drive for a man who had been assaulted and stabbed. The man was taken to Frederick Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He is identified as Jose Pedro Hernandez, 40, of Frederick.
Investigators identified Reyes-Valle as the suspect, and took him into custody on May 31st, 2023.
As of Wednesday evening, the State’s Attorney’s Office says jury selection had not been finalized.
