Frederick, Md (KM) Fire damaged a single family home in Frederick County Tuesday night.
According to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page, units were dispatched at 8:27 PM to the 6900 block of Bowers Road west of Frederick, and saw smoke showing from the home. They found an active fire in the basement, and requested the Rapid Intervention Dispatch. The Fire Task Force was also brought in. .
Neighboring structures were evacuated.
Bowers Road between Shookstown Road and Route 40 was closed due to fire department activity, and highway crews were sent in to salt the road.
Fire and Rescue officials say the fire was brought under control at 9:28 PM. Fire fighters continued to check for hot spots.
All occupants of the home got out safely and are accounted for.
The Fire Marshal’s Office was at the scene to conduct an investigation.
