The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says another student was slashed and stabbed several times.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Tuscarora High student has been charged as an adult for an incident at the school on Wednesday. Zain Mahmood,17, of Frederick is charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment, having a dangerous weapon on school property, disturbing school operations and fighting in a public place.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to the school at round 1:15 PM to investigate reports of a fight between two students in the hallway. School resource officers assisted Tuscarora High staff in bringing the situation under control.
Authorities say it was initially thought the incident was a fight between two students, and the suspect was sent home following the altercation. But an investigation revealed the suspect slashed and stabbed the victim with a sharp or bladed object during the fight.
The victim, who is a 16-year-old student, was transported by medics to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Mahmood was taken into custody at his home without incident. He is currently being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
