Bladensburg Man Charged In Montgomery County With Child Abuse Resulting In Death

He was arrested on Monday.

Gaithersburg, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police have charged a Bladensburg man with 2nd-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.  Terron Christopher Matasaran, 34, was arrested on Tuesday. He’s currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

On Monday, September 23rd, 2024 just after 11:00 AM, officers along with fire and rescue personnel responded to the 11600 block of Stewart Lane in the Silver Spring area  for an unresponsive child. Authorities say Matasaran was babysitting a seven-month-old boy when he called the child’s mother, reporting the child had fallen. The mother rushed home and called 911.   She began CPR until first responders arrived, but the infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office which determined that the child suffered a head injury and fractures. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

On Monday, March 3rd,  Homicide Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Matasaran,. The Montgomery County Police Task Force and US Marshals Capital Regional Task Force took Matasaran into custody on Tuesday, March 4th at his place of employment in Bladensburg.
