Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County officials are holding three open houses on three new Livable Frederick Plans. They’re taking place on Thursday, March 13th at the Thurmont Regional Library, 76 East Moser Street in Thurmont; Wednesday, March 26th at the Middletown Branch Library, 31 East Green Street in Middletown; and on Monday, April 7th at the Urbana Regional Library, 9020 Amulung Street, Frederick. .
All three open houses will take place from 6:000 PM until 8:00 PM each day.
Residents who come will get the chance to participate in interactive activities design to get them engaged in their communities. They’re also designed to get input on the Housing Element, Historic Preservation Plan and the Green Infrastructure Plan. The public also learn about the plans’ objectives and provide feedback to county staff.
Each open house will feature activities related the new plans: Shelter, Culture and Nature. The County says the Shelter activities are designed to gather ideas for housing and mapping strategies. The Culture activities will help identify and preserve historical events, places and traditions. The Nature activities will enhance the County’s green infrastructure.
“Planning for more affordable housing, historic preservation, and green infrastructure is critical to maintaining the high quality of life that we enjoy so much in Frederick County,” says County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “These upcoming open houses will provide another opportunity for the public to contribute ideas and help shape the future of our community.”
