Loans Available For Frederick County Small Businesses Affected By The Drought

It’s for those who experienced losses from the recent dry weather.

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County nurseries, small businesses and private non-profit organizations which were affected by the drought which began on July 23rd, 2024  are eligible to apply for US Small Business Administration loans. The SBA says its Economic Injury Disaster Loan program provides financial assistance to eligible companies which experienced hardship due to the dry weather.

The program is open to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, nurseries and private non-profits which experienced losses directly related to the drought, even if the damage was not physical.

SBA says these disaster loans are not available to agricultural producers, farmers or ranchers except for small aquaculture enterprises.

The money can be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other unpaid bills due to the impacts of the dry weather.

The deadline to apply is Monday, April seventh.
