Frederick, Md (IKM) Frederick Police call it a dangerous new scam that’s spreading across the nation. These scammers send out text messages telling the recipients that they have unpaid tolls, and must pay them immediately, or be fined.
Authorities say these messages look like they’re from local toll agencies, but they’re fake, and designed to steal your money and personal information.
Police say if you receive one of these text messages, do not click on any links; do not provide any personal or financial information; and delete the message immediately.
