Hagerstown Man Pleads Guilty To Firearms Trafficking

He could be facing 10 years in prison at sentencing.

Martinsburg, WV (KM) A Hagerstown man pleaded guilty this week to his role in a firearms trafficking operation in Berkeley County, West Virginia. The US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of West Virginia says Donaven Eugene Simms, 22, admitted to aiding and abetting a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. .

Court records say Simms worked with other defendants to purchase the weapons in Martinsburg, and provide them to individuals in states outside of West Virginia.

He could be facing up to ten years in a federal prisonĀ  when sentenced, say prosecutors. . No sentencing date has been announced.

A US District Court judge will determine sentence based on US Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors, according to federal prosecutors.
