Frederick, Md. (KM) – Frederick Police have arrested a Gaithersburg man for tampering with automobiles. Antonio Gutierrez, 30, was taken into custody.
Authorities say earlier this month, they were called to the 400 block of Harlan Way for an individual tampering with motor vehicles. Officers identified Gutierrez as the suspect. They say they had two warrants for his arrest, and they were able to quickly track him down and take him into custody.
He’s charged him with being a rogue and a vagabond. That means he was in or on another person’s vehicle with the intent to commit theft.
Frederick Police say they take seriously all reports about thefts from motor vehicles or tampering with motor vehicles. Citizens who observe suspicious activity in their neighborhoods are urged to call the non-emergency line at 301-600-2102.
Authorities also urges citizens to take all the necessary measures to protect their property by locking all car doors, and removing any valuables from their vehicles.
