The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office is Investigating.
Jefferson, Md. (KM) – The cause of a house fire in Jefferson on Thursday afternoon is under investigation by the Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office. .
Fire and Rescue officials say at around 3:08 PM, fire fighters were dispatched to the 5600 block of Carroll Boyer Road, and found a two-story single family farm house fully engulfed in flames. The flames spread to a nearby travel trailer and two vesicles.
A tanker task force was requested to shuttle water to the scene as there were no fire hydrants in that area. Embers from the fire landed on some adjacent property causing a brush fire. Crews were sent to put out those flames.
It took fire fighters two hours to put out the farm house fire. The building is a total loss, fire officials say. .
The occupant was not home at the time of the fire.
There were no civilian or fire fighter injuries, but two dogs perished in the fire.
