Victim sent to trauma center in critical condition
Union Bridge, Md. (NS) – A Union Bridge woman is behind bars after police say she intentionally hit another woman with her car and drove away.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office reports on Wednesday July 13, at around 9:10 P.M., Deputies were sent to Black Ankle Road and Unionville Road for the report of a woman who had been intentionally struck by a vehicle.
First responders found a female lying in the road in critical condition. Life saving measures were taken and she was transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
Investigators determined that 38-year-old Chelsea Kendall of Union Bridge intentionally struck the victim with her car after an altercation, and fled the scene before police arrived.
An arrest warrant was obtained and Kendall was taken into custody on Thursday by Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies and U.S. Marshals.
She was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on 1st and 2nd degree assault charges and failure to stop a vehicle at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury.
Kendell was ordered held without bond Friday afternoon by District Court Judge Eric Schafer. The State’s Attorney’s Office says a preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 11th.
