No one was hit by gunfire.
Hagerstown, Md. (KM) – Two Hagerstown men are charged in connection with a shots-fired incident in that city on Sunday morning.
Policed say just before 10:00 AM, they were dispatched to the 100 block of West Bethel street for a weapons discharge. They found a shell casing, but no one was injured.
Authorities leaned that the shots-fired resulted from a dispute between Nathaniel Hynson, 39, and and Karem Roberts, 31. . The dispute led to Hynson leaping on the hood of Roberts’ car which was traveling in the wrong direction on West Bethel Street. Police say Roberts fired a handgun from the driver seat at Hynson, and continued driving on with Hynson holding on to the hood of the vehicle.
A woman and an infant-age child were found in the vehicle. Child Protective Services was notified.
Hynson was located and placed under arrest. Police say he bit an officer causing a laceration to the officer’s hand. .
Roberts was also found.
Authorities obtained a search warrant on Roberts’ car where a handgun which matched evidence located at the crime scene was located.
Roberts is prohibited from possessing firearms due to past felony convictions. One in New York for torturing and injuring animals and assault convictions; and a second in Maryland for assault, drug distribution and carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to cause injury. .

- Assault 1st degree
- Assault 2nd degree
- Reckless Endangerment
- Numerous firearm related charges
- Multiple traffic violations
- Resisting arrest
- Disorderly conduct
- Hynson is charged with:
- Affray (fighting in a public place to disturb the peace)
- Disorderly Conduct
- Resisting Arrest
- Hindering
- Multiple pedestrian traffic violations
- Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer
