His appointment takes affect on August 1st.
Frederick, Md. (KM) – Jason Stitt has been named Frederick County’s new Public Works Director. His appointment to the position was approved on Tuesday by the County Council.
As Director of Public Works, Stitt will oversee six departments: Highway Operations; Facility Maintenance; Engineering and Construction Management; Fleet Services; Professional Services; and Fiscal Services.
Stitt has been with County Government since 2003, and has headed up the Department of Engineering and Construction Management; and served as the Chief of the Office of Transportation Engineering.
Before joining Frederick County, government, he worked for the Maryland State Highway Administration.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Physics from Saint Vincent College. Stitt has been a Registered Professional Engineer since 2002, and is a certified Project Management Professional. He served on the Board of Directors of the County Engineers Association of Maryland and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineer and the National Covered Bridge Society.
Stitt takes over his new job on August 1st.
