It successfully underwent a two-day controlled demonstration earlier this month.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission has awarded Long Shots in Frederick a sports wagering license. This will be Maryland’s 9th retail sportsbook.
The agency says Long Shots and its operating partner Betfred completed two days of controlled demonstrations on November 14th through the 16th where guests took part in live wagering as Lottery and Gaming staff make sure the restaurant and off track betting center was in compliance with all state regulations, and all systems and revenue reporting controls operated properly. .
Long Shots is also planning to openĀ another retail sports wagering center in Hagerstown.
The local restaurant and off-track betting facility has applied for a mobile sports wagering license. The Lottery and Gaming Control Commission says Long Shots will not be ready to launch its mobile sports wagering on November 23rd, which is the day when mobile sports wagering begins in Maryland. But Lottery and Gaming Control staff are working with Long Shots to so it can complete all operational steps, and be ready to launch as soon as it’s ready.
