Frederick, Md (KM) A part of westbound Interstate 70  at Exit 52 from westbound US 340 and southbound US 15 will be closed during the overnight hours on Monday, May 15th. The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says crews will be repairing a guardrail in that area which was damaged in  a vehicle crash.

The closure will begin on Monday at 10:00 PM. The repair work is expected to be completed by 5:00 AM on Tuesday, May 16th. .

Motorists heading westbound on I-70 in that area will be detoured to the Exit 52 ramp, which merges with another ramp to continue on to westbound I-70. Drivers heading on northbound I-270 who are moving toward I-70 will see the exit ramp go from two lanes down to one lane.

MDOT SHA says it will use electronic signs, road signs, cones and barrels to alert  motorists to the work zone, and guide them through the detour which uses Exit 52.
