Trails will remain open while work is being done
Frederick, Md. (BW)- Improvements will be made to the hiking trails at Monocacy National Battlefield this summer.
According to the National Park Service, work is being done to make the trails wider and safer. Trail-markers and signs will be updated as well.
There will also be two miles of new trails and a new overlook of the battlefield at Gambrill Mill.
The Monocacy National Battlefield has several miles of walking/hiking trails, wetlands, upland forests and scenic views.
The park is located at 5201 Urbana Pike in Frederick and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
