Frederick, Md. (BW)- An unknown dog bit a child in the North Crossing neighborhood in Frederick on Sunday, June 18.
According to the Frederick County Health Department a woman was walking a dog near Harpers Way and Crossing Stone Court when the dog slipped out of the collar and bit a child also walking in the area.
The whereabouts, as well as the health of the dog are currently unknown.
The dog was described as a brown short-haired Pitbull type with black and white patches, weighing around 60 pounds.
The woman walking the dog had short, black, curly hair and was wearing a pink shirt with black pants.
The Health Department needs help locating the dog so it can monitor the dog’s health and determine if a rabies vaccination is necessary. Anyone with information can call Frederick County Animal Control at 301-600-1544.
The dog needs to be quarantined for 10 days. If the dog is healthy after 10 days, it can resume normal activities.
