Speed Monitoring Devices Installed Along Parts Of Christophers Crossing In Frederick

They will be located at the intersection with Fieldstone Way & Sawmill Court.

Frederick, Md (KM) Two automated speed monitoring systems began operating on Monday, July 10th at both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Christophers Crossing at Fieldstone Way and Sawmill Court in Frederick.

Frederick Police say signs have been placed along Christophers Crossing to remind motorists about the speed monitoring systems, and urging them to adhere to the posted speed limits.

A warning period began on Monday where those motorists going 12-miles per hour over the posted speed limit will recorded, but no citations will be issued.

Beginning on August 9th, citations will be issued for drivers who go 12-miles per hour over the posted speed limit. The maximum fine for each violation will be $40.. But police say these citations will not be reported to insurance companies and no points be assessed on a driver’s license.

These automated speed monitoring systems are intended to improve road safety and reduce accidents, city officials say.
