Motorists should expect single-lane closures.
Point of Rocks, Md (KM) A resurfacing of two miles of Point of Rocks Road or Md. 464 will begin on Monday.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says crews will be milling, patching, paving and restriping Md. 464 between Frazer Road and Catoctin Creek. The work will take place between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. During that time, MDOT SHA says motorists who travel that stretch of Point of Rocks Road should expect single-lane closures.
The contractor, Francis O. Day, Jr., Inc., will be using flaggers, barrels, cones and arrow boards to guide drivers safely through the construction. Motorcyclists are urged to use extra caution in this area due to uneven pavement during restriping.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-August, weather permitting, according to MDOT SHA.
