Man Shot and Killed By Police After Stabbing Four People In Montgomery County

Four women and one man injured

Gaithersburg, Md. (DG) – An man was shot and killed by police after he stabbed four other people in Montgomery County on Saturday July 22, 2023.

According to a press release, Montgomery County Police received reports of a stabbing at the Unique Thrift Store in the 12200 block of Veirs Mill Road at around 10:30 AM. Once on scene, police found a woman suffering from stab wounds.

A few minutes later police were informed two other women were stabbed in the 4100 block of Collie Drive. When they arrived, police found the women with stab wounds along with a man. The women were taken to the hospital, one is in critical condition. The man was not transported.

At around 10:45 AM police located the suspect in the 4300 block of Havard Street holding a butchers knife. The suspect refused to comply with officer’s commands to drop the knife. The man lunged towards an officer and he was shot and killed.

The Maryland Attorney General’s Office will investigate the officer involved shooting. Montgomery County Police are continuing to investigate the stabbings.
