One goes to the YMCA of Frederick County.
Washington DC (KM) The YMCA of Frederick County is one of five agencies in Maryland to receive an Early Childhood Education Grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services. The local non-profit will be getting $3,018,893 . which will go toward the local Head Start to expand early learning, development, health services and family well-being. That’s according to members of the Maryland Congressional Delegation. who announced the grants on Wednesday.
“Investing in early education for our children creates a strong foundation for their future needs,” The Delegation says in a statement. “By supporting Head Start programs across Maryland, we are advancing efforts to close the learning gap and open doors in quality education for all. We will continue fighting to secure investments that empower our students to succeed and thrive in the classroom.”
The grants totals $28, 927, 670.
The members of the Maryland Congressional Delegation making this announcement are Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin, and Representatives David Trone, Jaime Raskin, Steny Hoyer, Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, Kweisi Mfume and Glenn Ievy.
