Frederick, Md (KM) Thunderstorms came through Frederick County on Monday afternoon with strong winds and heavy rains. That all led to utility wires and trees knocked to the ground, according to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page.
Several fire alarms tripped due to the storm, and a house was struck by lightning. Fire and rescue personnel assisted with removing a tree which fell on to a home.
A few roads were closed due to downed utility poles and power lines.
There was crash which resulted in a jackknifed tractor trailer along Route 340 causing it close.
The area was under a tornado watch, but no twisters were reported.
There was rotating cloud reported in Martinsburg, West Virginia, but a post from the WV Panhandle Weather Facebook page said there’s no evidence the cloud touched down.
