The new format for public meetings will begin in September.
Washington County, Md. (BW)- The Washington County Board of Education is restructuring the way public meetings will be ran.
Public meetings will be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
The first meeting of the month will be a work session. Board members will spend that time to share information, discuss issues and read reports from the school system’s Superintendent. No formal action will be taken during these meetings.
During the meetings held on the third Tuesday of each month, the Board will receive public comment and take formal action. These sessions will be called business meetings.
Work sessions, held on the first Tuesday of the month will begin at 4 p.m. and business meetings, held on the third Tuesday of the month will start at 6 p.m.
All meetings will take place at the Center for Education Services located at 10435 Downsville Pike in Hagerstown. Meetings will also be live-streamed on the Washington County Public Schools Facebook page.
