Temporary Traffic Light At Md.17 To Be Activated Today

It will remain active 24/7.

Frederick, Md (KM) A temporary traffic signal will be activated today (Thurs), September 7th at Maryland Route 17 (Burkittsville Road)  between Quebec School Road and Countryside Drive.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says this temporary traffic light is part of the replacement project for the Md. 17 bridge over Middle  Creek, and will be in operation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will alternate northbound and southbound traffic crossing the Md. 17 bridge over Middle Creek. MDOT SHA says the road will be reduced to one lane heading toward the bridge.

The bridge replacement project is being done by Franco’s Liberty Bridge, Inc., of Clinton.

The project is expected to be completed by September of next year, weather permitting.
