Officials say it will assess how emergency workers function during actual disasters.
Hagerstown, Md (KM) There will be an emergency disaster exercise at the Hagerstown Regional Airport on Saturday, October 7th, 2023. The hours will be from 7:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Washington County officials say it will be an opportunity for those taking part to assess their skills and how they function during an emergency situation. The primary goal is to improve interagency coordination, evaluate responses and foster unity among emergency workers responding to large-scale disasters.
The emergency communications systems will be audible in the immediate area surrounding the airport, but officials tell nearby residents it’s only a drill.
The event is not open to the public.
