Walk To End Alzheimer’s Returns To Frederick

This year’s fundraising goal is $298,000.

Frederick, Md. (BW)- The Walk To End Alzheimer’s will take place in Frederick on Sunday, Oct 15.

The event is put on as a way to remember and support those affected by Alzheimer’s. It also raises money for the support, care and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Registration takes place online. Those interested in participating can join an existing team or create their own.

Check in on the day of the event begins at 11 a.m. and the walk starts at noon. The course is a two mile route that begins at Harry Grove Stadium, located at 21 Stadium Drive, and goes through downtown Frederick.

Marilyn Herbert, the Development Manager for the Greater Maryland Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, said this year there is expected to be over 100 volunteers and around 800 participants.

She added, if no cure is found or no treatments see improvements, around 130,000 Marylanders are expected to suffer from Alzheimer’s.

Alzheimer’s is a disease that causes dementia in adults.
